As stated in my previous post about privacy it is tremendously important that people in general and employer specifically, have a forgiving attitude towards youth indiscretions or any "errors" made. Anyone really living and making decisions will sooner or later make mistakes that would be best if it never happened.
In a digital life where everything is stored and often preserved for a very long time this is extra important. Over the last month I have seen articles (funny enough my link to one at independent.co.uk was removed) where individuals making mistakes, greater or smaller, was refused things like a work opportunity or loosing credentials.
All this is even more important with politicians, for this category of individuals I would argue that mistakes are essential to the learning and development process. Naturally they should not try to hide the mistakes but rather explain what was learned and how they will change their position in different areas.
